The Instant Gonorrhoea test is available in many of Better2Know’s clinics across the Middle East. The test requires a minimum incubation period of 14 days, meaning that you should wait at least two weeks from the date of the incident that concerns you before taking this test.

Our Instant Gonorrhoea test can be performed on its own or combined with other Instant tests for up to five harmful STIs, including HIV. You can choose from our Instant Four, Instant Peace of Mind and Instant Six screens, as well as our Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Instant test.

Which samples will be used?

The Instant Gonorrhoea test requires a single swab sample to detect infection. For a woman, this will be a vaginal swab, and for a man it will be a urethral swab. This is a quick and painless procedure and your sample will be collected discreetly by a qualified medical practitioner. There are no fasting requirements for this test.

How will I receive my results?

The Instant Gonorrhoea test usually takes around 20 minutes to complete, with results provided whilst you wait in the clinic. Once the test is complete, your Better2Know doctor or clinician will give you your results and provide you with a personal pathology report.

What if I test positive?

Gonorrhoea is a common STI and it can be treated effectively with a short course of antibiotics. Treatment will usually include both an oral antibiotic as well as an injection. If your test is reactive, your Better2Know doctor will provide you with a prescription for the required medication, at no extra cost.

We can also assist you with specialist referrals, if necessary. Should you prefer, you can show your results to your own doctor or healthcare provider.
