Better2Know's Peace of Mind Screen is designed for people who are concerned about common infections from 14 days after an incident of concern. This screen has a 14-day incubation or "window" period. This means that you should wait at least two weeks after the incident you are concerned about before having your test.

Which STIs are tested for?

The Peace of Mind Screen tests for:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Syphilis

If you are concerned about any other STIs, we can add these to your screen at our reduced bolt-on rate. Please choose the additional tests when you book online or ask our booking team.

What samples are needed?

Both blood and urine samples are needed for this screen. You will need to be able to produce a urine sample at your appointment, so we advise to avoid using the toilet for at least two hours before your test. There are no special fasting requirements for this screen.

How will I get my results?

We will contact you through your preferred method when we have your results back from our laboratory. If you would prefer to contact us instead, you can do so. Please let our Patient Services team know when you make your booking. You can also view your results online in your secure online Patient Area at any time.

What if I test positive?

All the STIs in this screen are curable with the right treatment. When you receive your results, Better2Know will discuss your treatment options with you. We can help you to get a private prescription for the medication you need or, if you prefer, you can take your results to your own doctor.

How do I book?

You can book you appointment with Better2Know either online or by calling our friendly booking team on the number at the top of the page.
