How do I know if I need an inflammation test?
If you have been suffering from chronic inflammation and have concerns that you may have arthritis, bowel disease or an auto-immune disorder, you should purchase our inflammation test.
What is the main test for inflammation?
You will be asked to provide a blood sample, which will be collected from your arm and sent to our fully accredited Middle East laboratory. Our Inflammation test detects inflammation in the body, which can be caused by a range of different diseases, including infections, auto-immune conditions, and cancers.
What tests will be run on my sample?
Our inflammation test will assess the following:
- Full blood count (FBC) with a 5-part differential. This test checks the levels of all your different blood cells identifying any abnormalities
- Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). The ESR measures the rate at which blood cells settle in a tube. Faster rates can indicate inflammatory problems
- C-Reactive Protein (CRP). This is a substance produced by the liver and is a marker for infection and inflammation. Elevated levels of CRP could signify chronic inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease or lupus
How will I receive my test results?
Within one working day of your sample's arrival at our certified local Middle East laboratory, the confidential results of your inflammation test will be ready. To access your results at any time you can log in to your secure patient area. When all your results are ready, a member of our Patient Services team will contact you.
What should I do if my results reveal abnormal levels?
You should speak to a doctor about your results if your results reveal abnormal levels. Medication can be prescribed to you, and you may be advised to make lifestyle changes to ensure treatment success. If you would like, Better2Know can organise a private consultation for you, available at locations throughout the Middle East, with our network of skilled doctors.
