Better2Know offers an extensive range of confidential STI testing throughout the Middle East. Along with private testing for individual infections, we also provide an assortment of sexual health screens in countries like Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. Our screens comprise combinations of STI tests and have been specially designed by a panel of medical experts to ensure your total peace of mind.
In addition to our Blemish Screen, Comfort Screen and Early Detection Screen, Better2Know offers three other completely comprehensive screening options, two of which are exclusive to patients in the Middle East.
Our Silver Screen will detect up to six infections, including Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma. The test uses simple blood and urine samples, providing results within five working days of your samples’ arrival at our central, fully certified laboratory.
Similarly, Better2Know’s Gold Screen includes testing for the same selection of STIs, with the addition of Hepatitis C, Herpes I/II and Trichomonas. Both tests require a minimum period of incubation, which measures the length of time between potential exposure and testing. The incubation period for the Gold and Silver screens is set at 28 days, which is four weeks after an incident of concern.
The legislation surrounding HIV in the Middle East can prove complex. In certain countries, results need to be reported, carrying the very real threat of extradition. With this in mind, Better2Know’s Gold and Silver Screens purposely exclude HIV testing, to minimise the risk of any immediate complications with state authorities. That said, if HIV is a concern for you, it is extremely important that you look after your safety and get yourself tested.
The Platinum Screen is our most complete screen and includes testing for both types of HIV, as well as all the STIs included in the Gold Screen. The incubation period required for the Platinum Screen also stands at 28 days, however, for patients who would like to be tested much sooner for the same array of infections, Better2Know recommends the Early Platinum Screen. This popular option tests for the same STIs as the Platinum Profile, at half the period of incubation – just 14 days after any potential exposure.
